A modern diva died...

I've just heard it on the late news: she died in her apartment in London. She was 27.
I mean Amy Winehouse.
I started to cry and I still am...
How to explain? She was so much deeply part of my past life. How to tell about the feeling that grew when I would hear her voice, her musical style, her lost girl ways. My late companion liked her much.
He had me discover the incredible sound music and edgy day-to-day lyrics of that East Ender of a Jewish girl. If talent was to be explained I would just name her. She grew so rich and yet remained an outcast all throughout.
I felt connected to that girl, you know.
My late companion would say that she was a white girl with a black voice taking us back then in the late 50s and early sixties with the black singers of the Motown. Only she did it in the 21st century making it sound modern like and jazzy too.
One more that got cut off in their prime. Remember Otis Redding? (he died at 26 years-old).
You may think that this is too sentimental. May be. I can however think of 2 other artists in full whom I cried for when I heard that they had died. They were Compay Segundo and Gainsbourg. (Actually, I did not cry for Gainsbourg, I was in shock).
Allright, I now am feeling better. Shedding no more tears. Writing did me good, I guess.
